I'll try to post all my specs on the AC parts soon. Just been super busy racing the past couple weekends.

Had a great time at GoodGuys last 2 days. Large crowds of racing family in a maskless atmosphere with fantastic weather and a little racing mixed in, what else could one ask for?

Car worked great, love the new Trutrac and the 370 gear is perfect for my setup. Finished 5th in a large class of mostly corvettes and race built cars and 16th overall out of over 50 cars and made the shootout for the first time in a while.

Here was my fastest run of the day.

Sounds like you would say that event is a highlight for the season. Good to see the car, and driver, have moved up the ladder several steps, keep it up.

Best time was with some ballast in the pass seat? Any links to the GG events?

Finally they posted results from AZsolo, that Bird I've seen at other events as a Pro.

But StreetMachine results link quit working unfortunately....

They are running all Anerrucan Sunday today. Check out BPs time... I ran a 43.316 yesterday backed up by a 43.435.

Lance, I watched the video and kept up through Facebook on times Looks like you have that car tuned and running good. Looked like a really competitive field. Was nice to see a monte in there.

Thanks Brent. We had a blast all weekend. Was great to hang with friends, race and forget about the rest of the world for a change. One of my favorite events of the year for sure.

Sorry for the delay but here is the total list of parts I used to upgrade the AC.

The manifold and (2) 90 degree fittings are Sanden compressor specific, the rest should be universal for all of our cars.

They missed some of the hoses on here, we used #12 on the big line from compressor to accumulator, #8 compressor to condenser, and #6 from condenser to evaporator.

A good friend of mine just sent me this video of one of my early runs taken from the sidelines at GoodGuys Spring Nats in Scottsdale.

Thought I'd share a bit different perspective of the car on track with the class...

I've always heard that good guys courses are tight. Definitely looks that way compared to the videos i have watched of autox events locally. Lance, im not on the up and up on car handling but im impressed by the acceleration and how flat your car stays. Looks like a good time.

A good friend of mine is very curious...and has a podcast relating to her curiosities... She followed me around during the Good Guys show a couple of weeks ago filming her adventure.

Here is the link to the video she made about her day.

"Day job" What's that? laugh

Thanks Bob, wasn't really sure how it was going to go but if you know me...you know when talking about my car all you have to do is get me started and I'll just roll along.

Cassie is still pretty new at this whole thing but she is getting much better, both with her interviewing skills and her editing. I was pretty happy with the final result.

Wow, it's been a while since I posted to this thread! Actually, it's been a while since I've even thought much about my car. I parked it in April and except for moving it around a bit here and there it hasn't been driven at all this summer. My tires are still about half good and I didn't want to heat cycle them out driving in the Arizona summer heat...plus I spent the summer playing with my new truck...so here we are.

Last weekend I flew out to PA to attend the KOTM event and one of my objectives was to meet, get to know as many online friends as I could and ride along in as many of their cars as I could and I accomplished that big time. Getting to finally meet in person Bob, Cory, and Chuck who have collaborated with me on mods for years and to check out their cars was awesome!!

I really enjoyed finally getting to ride along in Chuck's car on course to see how a three linked rear suspension G Body handled and reacted. Chuck has built a fantastic car and can wheel the heck out of it. It's very similar to mine in many ways, yet very different in a few mainly because of the 3 link. What he has works VERY well...but in my opinion if it was mine, I'd have to adjust on it quite a bit to be able to enjoy racing it. It is pretty fast as it is, and was the class of the "mid majors" there as he bested Cory, Mike Goodman and a few others that I'd consider myself to be competitive with on that day, but it has a definite push on corner exit that would drive me crazy. Probably because of this...

[Linked Image]

I mentioned after my ride that stiffening up the rear roll resistance would help a ton, but he was hesitant to do that as he didn't want to induce a "loose in" condition which I completely understood. After seeing this picture though, I believe he changed his mind and will be stiffening up the rear for sure.

I couldn't get over the rear grip the car had on corner entry, it was truly amazing. He sailed it off into the 180 turn behind the tech building and I thought for sure it was going around...but it stuck like an IRS car. Then he got back on the gas to exit and the front just pushed like crazy. Is it fast like that, sure...something I like?...not a chance. I believe there is a happy medium in there somewhere that we both can get to but in different ways.

So I think I'll just carry on with my 4 link but I am going to try to mess with my lower control arm mounts to see if I can get a bit more forward bite grip. I'm going to get the car on the lift and measure all of the rear pivot points which I've never done and conquer up some help from my suspension guru buddies to see what we can do to increase forward bite. I don't have much wiggle room to move the uppers around but certainly can rearrange the lowers if the data says it may help.

Anyway, registration for our first fall event opens Friday. We'll be racing again come Sept 19... Time to get back into race mode once again...

Here is one more picture of Chuck's car on course with my bright orange helmet in the right seat enjoying the heck out of the ride...

It was pretty awesome to have you visit us Lance. To be honest, the magic of UMI Motorsports Park is because of the competitors (and guys who travel from AZ to be with friends). We all throw positivity at each other and it just plain works.

I wish I got to hang out more with you, Bob et al but as you know it was crazy. I'm looking forward to more craziness at future events also.

Oh, and KOTM 4.0 is gonna be awesome. Lots of plot twists. smile

Ramey, after the final run of the night and the crowd had cleared Bill and I were sitting in the stands and watched you run the steps from the track to the booth at the top of the grandstands and back down to the festivities. I was rooting for you. Put that on the list for next year, no steps.
Thanks for another great weekend. As a three time spectator now looking forward to the next one.

Lance didn't know your car was housebound for so long. April to Oct is the height of the season here in the NE. Oct 4 will be my last opportunity for some runs this year. Your season is just getting started.

You got a lot of rides just recently, maybe more perspective on what works and what doesn't. Should be an interesting year for you and Barney.

Send me that link to the front bar build.
Bob

I saw a referral from MonteCarloss.com show up in my analytics and found a live thread on a forum? NOOOOOO. Inconceivable!

This image drops on Instagram tomorrow morning. It's from the autocross at Road America during the OSUSC event there a couple of weeks ago. Lance's design is way more flexible, but you need a welder and it does hang a bit low. In either case, if you're competing with a G-Body, It's my experience you need way more front anti-roll bar than is available off the shelf. The alternative is 1500lb front springs, and I like my teeth in my head.

Image in a link because for some reason embed doesn't work here anymore?

If you would have just showed up at KOTM I could have showed Bob your sway bar in person and even better, you could have showed it how well it works on course... laugh
