Bob your car will always be a street car....You know..... As long as you keep your truck engine!! lmao

Sorry, it's been a while and I cant help it...

Yep, truck engine it is, small cam, single exhaust and a small set of gonads behind the wheel. Never intended the car to be a racer, just a nice touring car.
I can blame Lance for me not driving the car the past 3 months.

Lance has a big bar in the front now. Also a little more spring rate change was made I believe. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those 2nd Gen F are running a LOT of spring rate.

If you read back Lance has the Ridetech set up special ordered with more wall thickness in the bar.

Lance I know at one point you thought about needing to go further yet in rate, are you still under that impression?

I think my point was that bar seems to be near irrelevant with these cars in 180's. Lance and I run very different setups, but it seems we have a very similar problem in 180's, the difference is that he can exist corners on WOT thanks to that trick differential.

Some of you might find this pretty interesting, others not so much. Terri took 100 pics in burst mode of Barney in a turn during the challenge at Good Guys last weekend and I made a movie of them. I so need to do more of this when testing a new setup.

Lance, did you get turn in understeer and throttle out?

Once I got my input timing in sync with the adjusted shock valving, turn in was very good and as long as I stayed out of the marbles the front held for the whole turn. I went a bit wide in the turn in the video above and got into the marbles late so it pushed a tad.

The rear stepping out a bit at 16-18 seconds is the problem I've had with this car for a long time, haven't been able to tune that out yet in current configuration.

So I can't remember the last time I drained my catch can...probably after Midwest Musclecar last May. After making 3-4 6,000 RPM blasts per run for about 20 runs at Good Guys couple weeks ago, I figured it would be a good time to check it.

This is what came out...

[Linked Image]

It's probably 90-95% condensation water with very little oil in it.

Not only that, but the engine has completely quit using or loosing oil as well.

It's really nice when a well designed part does exactly what it is supposed to do, fixes an age old issue. So simple too...

Thanks Mighty Mouse...

Well, that didn't go as planned...

This happened as I was trying to back it off the trailer to race this morning.

[Linked Image]

Clutch master cylinder failed as I was letting the clutch out to help it down the ramps.

[Linked Image]

While I'm bummed I didn't get to race today, I'm happy that I don't have to pull the transmission out to fix it.

As you sure someone didn't dump there warm beer into that jar? Still looking for my first ounces to be drained.

You don't hear that to often that the master fails, not that many miles on it, maybe 20K?

And typically only driven on Sundays... laugh

It was just weird to me when it failed. The clutch took a ton of abuse two weeks prior and never even blinked, then while backing it off the trailer...BOOM!!

Crap happens I guess, I'm just glad it seems like a simple fix.

Not sure which one you have but I have a new GM master cylinder for the newer 1998 + T56 that needs a home.

This is a 1994 LT1 setup, is yours the LS1 style master?

So many sweet cars in those pics. Of course you know the couple I really like. I could look at a thousand pics of that Cobra. The Nova wagon, the 85 SS are the other two. Camaros are cool but they have been done a zillion ways. Who can not like that red split window. I think I watched a video of that car on the open road a while back.

Lance when you get some time update the suspension specs and parts again. Interested in know how the wheel wells are holding up. Must be time for some new tires soon.

Lance, I know that Barney's stance is determined by the necessary ride height for racing, but good god does it look good and sit "right".

Thanks...I think so as well. I've had it anywhere from where it is now to about an inch higher in the front...certainly looks better as it is now even if I'm wearing my front inner fenders out in about 6 spots...

Clutch culprit found...

And the cure...

Hopefully that is the last repair done in here...

At least it's not raining on you. That's right, it doesn't rain in that part of the country.

I like to say that time living out of a suitcase went fast, but i know it didn't. Glad to see the home life returning to something normal again. YEA!
