Hi all,
I've been reding here for awhile, and thought would I would formally do an intro and post up some pics. My name is David and I live in Easley, SC. I've been a car nut all my life, and presently have a project 69 Camaro w/ and LS2, a low mileage 5.0 vert Mustang, and this low mileage 86 MCSS that I picked up not long ago.

I tend to swap cars pretty often, and always have a project going of some kind. This 39K mile SS presented itself, and it was so incredibly nice, I could not pass it up.

The guy I bought it from purchased it in 86 when it was 3 months old from a Chevrolet dealership manager who had ordered it for himself. As I was told, these cars were hard to come by, so he had to pay full sticker.

This car is silver w/ T-Tops, almost all options available, and has never seen rain or spent a night outside (short of a car show w/ a cover on it)! All belts, hoses, paint, stripes, interior, etc are all original. It is on it's second set of tires, and the AC system was completely redone w/R134.

I hope to learn more while here, and will probably drive the car to some shows/cruise ins until I finish my Camaro, then who knows?

Enough jabber, here are some pics !

If you decide to come to the NMCOA Convention in Richmond, Ind, please trailer that car, it is tooooooo nice to drive all that far. Put it in the Gold Class.

Here are a couple of shots of the 69 coming together, I'll get a newer one w/ the LS2 in it.

Start 'em young !

One w/ the Stang in the background

One more of the Mustang

No, I'm not a fan of yellow ! It was just a nice low mileage car, and I've had 19 Mustangs, so I'm a sucker for a clean one. It's for sale.
I much prefer the LX coupes and Cobras.

I mentioned I'm a car nut, well I could (like alot of you) list an awesome number of cars I've had and wish I had back. Mostly all muscle cars (late model and classic).

Thats a very fine car you've got there! I'd say go ahead and do the lsx swap on it, but the folks around here would kill me for suggesting that on such a clean car laugh Have fun, and stick around, you'll find a great group of guys here always willing to help, even if they want to jab at you for the mustangs every now and again.

HeHe, yep, a LS2 or LS7 with full suspension! You're right though, it's too nice and I paid way too much for it.

As promised, the latest pictures of the Camaro :

LQ4 w/ 02 vette intake, F-body acc drive, and custom grind Comp Cam w/560 lift. 4L80E trans, 12 bolt posi.

And the brakes to come. Will get DSE suspension.

I wonder if my car was that nice 150,000 miles ago? That is one beautifully clean Monte. Have to agree with Catalyze, it hurts my eyes its so clean lol.

Appreciate the comments. I had to learn a long time ago to do my own work because I realized I was too broke to pay somebody ! eek

I have 2 boys (3&6) that occupy alot of time, and I don't spend much time on my project car, but that's OK. It's not going anywhere. I just want to to pass along everything my dad has taught me over the years. There isn't any substitute for hands on knowledge.

Yes you have to start kids out early or they will be like my 6yr old son. He loves to get his hands dirty but if you do not involve him he will just do it for himself as he watches my every move. Once when he was about four he had a fetish for my air compressor and would air his tires and loosen bolts on his bike with it. He also was crazy about my leaf blower for some reason and would get very angry when he could'nt use it. You have a very nice collection going there, and I feel you will really fall in love with that beautiful SS.

Beautiful SS, and nice '69 project!! I'm in the same boat with the kids, but fortunately my son loves working outside with me on them too. Oh FWIW, I really like to see a clean 'Stang too, but I like notchbacks better. smile Welcome aboard!!

Notchbacks crazy !! I love 'em too. I have had several of them, and bought a new black 5.0 5speed back in '91. That's one car I've always regretted selling. I am on the search for a nice stcok notch now without paying a fortune for it. Those cars have really surprised mw with resell value. A clean 5 speed notch, especially black, will get on the money strong!

One thing that I'm always worried about with the boys is them deciding to "work" on a car when i'm not around. All their ride on toys are in the garage, so they are in there all day long. You never know when they might wanna do some sanding on the wrong car shocked I just hope they are don't get into as much as I did as a kid !
