Looks great. Makes my 02 Monte seats seem so retro.

Thanks everyone... I'm driving the car today and I just got back from a bunch of errands and I must say...I now LOVE driving this car!!! clap

I mean, I liked driving it around before...but it's like a different car now.

A couple of my errands were to the local upholstery shops and I've got an appointment on July 1st to get them recovered. So I've got about a month to decide if I'm going to put the GTO rear seats in and get them recovered as well.

If I had a buyer for my stock front and back seats which are in fantastic shape...I just may do the rear swap too.

Here's some pictures of them if anyone is interested.

The seat tracks have been cleaned up and painted and I've got 7 of the 8 track feet covers that will go with them. The plastic seat hinge cover on the passenger side is broken. I can ship them via freight cheaper than just about anyone can, especially if the buyer has the ability to pick them up at a freight terminal. I just don't have any idea what they are worth.

Just dye them. Check this out:

If you look at the gain in the blue seat, you'll see they are the same ones, before and after.
The person who did this claims they have and are holding up really really well. Prep is a lot of work...and so is coating them, but significantly cheaper.

Finally got my GTO seats back from the upholstery shop and reinstalled...Check them out...

I couldn't be happier with the job the shop did on them. The material matches perfectly and the way they sewed the pleats and the rest of the covers made them look like they were factory seats.

Thanks guys... I've got the headrests and enough material to cover them...but I wanted to do a little something special on the material before having it sewn on the headrests. The shop knew that, so they just covered up the holes for now. Once I get the head rests done, all I have to do is cut open the holes, put the plastic covers over them and slip the headrests in.

Now that they are in though, the tops of the seat backs are exactly the same height as the top of the back seat and they look pretty dang good without the head rests on.

Which shop did them? I had one in the KC area do my rear and door panels and was very happy. Did your shop have a "faint" cat smell?

Well there is no doubt it's a pretty expensive upgrade, but the seats are where your butt connects to your car and if that isn't comfortable, you never will be really comfortable while driving your car.

That makes the money it cost to upgrade to these worth every penny to me. It was like getting in to a different car the first time I drove around the block with these seats in the car, a MUCH better car.

You can find the GTO seats on ebay anywhere from $400 to $750 or so plus freight depending on condition and if the rear seat comes with them or not. Then you have to build some pretty extensive brackets to mount them along with running the electrical for the power motors, not really expensive but time consuming. Then if the color doesn't match your car, you'll need to get them recovered, and your cost options are endless there, I had one shop quote me $1200 just to recover these two seats. I got them done for much less than that though...thankfully.

Wow,those look great!

I've got to be honest, I wasn't completely sold on those seats in a Monte at first as the color was obviously way off compared to the stock maroon and made them stick out like a sore thumb, but I've definitely changed my opinion after seeing them recovered.

Any more info/pictures of the custom brackets used?

Lance, those seats look absolutely beautiful in your Monte SS. I have an 87 Buick T-Type that I have been contemplating using the same seats. I also would like to see pictures of the brackets that John had made up for your car. Is it possible that you could post some?

Thanks Lance
Rich

Looks like they did a great job Lance, & the font looks correct. The only thing I'm not diggin' is the size, it should of been a little smaller. JMO
