Im not sure about those maybe if the fender behind the wheel was longer and they were a lil lower thenit might look ok.

Navigate to: Body, fenders and louvers, there you go...

There are a few floating around here that have them, the only one I can remember was the one that had them backwards and it looked just as good, but I do know of a white one, and a black one, both were solid looking cars, and it just added a bit more to their looks.

I remember the days that cars were lowered and trucks were lifted

I had them on my Aero. I think they look really good on the Aerocoupes. Plus great for getting hot air out the engine bay.

I was the one who had them backwards. Which either way looks good.

Here is the picture of the vents that I got off ebay for $100. Paint them to the color of the car or keep them black. HTH

Their site does not allow you to link to a part page, but here is the part # & description, you can do a search on 'GNX Fender', and it will show up...

Honestly in my opinion the best looking side vents (extractors) would be the following; 1) Trans Am 1970-1981 style. 2) Z28 1978-1979 style & 3) Z28 1980-1981 style. There's an outside chance that the mid - late 80's Corvette vents might look nice as well but I have never seen a MCSS with them.
The Buick GNX vents look like they belong on a Buick exclusively because it was Buick's who originally had these vents (port holes) installed on them.
There seems to be a growing opinion in the car community that frowns on cars that have vents installed that those in the know know never came with. Just thought you might want to know this bit of news.

I don't care for that look myself. But I would like to see a 81 Camaro Z28 vent, they have a smoother transition.

Just got lucky and I had some pics from a member from STL that bought that 4X4 Monte on Ebay and fixed it up, he likes to put the Camaro vents in the fenders.

In my opinion the Z28, 80-81 style scoops are too big (out of proportion), on the 83-88 MCSS fenders. But I think y'all are on the right track here. Perhaps if they were reduced in size somehow so they look more ascetically pleasing to the eye. The idea is that vents look like they should've been there to begin with. I have a feeling the 70-81 TA vents & the 78-79 Z28 vents are both the same size as well, too bad.
Okay, how about the vents from a 1972 Pontiac GTO? They'd be located lower just behind the front wheel and before the door.
What makes doing this so difficult is the Monte Carlo's fender has the "crease" that goes along the whole side of the car from the fenders to the doors. If it weren't for that the fender space would have a much larger area in which to install some fender vents. It's too bad Chevy didn't envision something like this back in the 80's because I think it would've looked right. But seeing's how they didn't even think about a cowl hood back then, I can see how all this went down the way it did.
I propose that some talented individual with blow torch, welding & other body skills sacrifice some Monte Carlo fenders for the cause just to see what could or would work. I do think the right size vent could work IF it looked like it belonged there from the get go. But I also realize that this may require way too much effort to accomplish for too little return. Any other thoughts on the subject here, ie ;if fender vents existed & they looked right, would you spring for a set???

I think those T/A vent might be the ticket for proportioning. Someone get a cut off wheel and get to work, we need some pics!

Anyone able to photo shop that T/A vent I'd really like to it. It may be small enough to be tasteful.
