Bill, zz430t56 was making & selling some nice looking shifter boots that fit in the stock shifter plate just for the manual swap a little while back. Might want to contact him.

That's Steve's boot - should be able to pick one up on ebay. As for the floor boot - guys have used both 3rd gen and 4th gen F-body parts.

It's hard to see from this pic but it's a 91 Trans am boot, 98 Cobra Knob and 93-02 F body floor boot.

Most of us use two boots, the lower seals the shifter to the floor sheetmetal and the upper is for appearance to finish off the hole cut in the console. Lower used is the 93-02 F body boot #10267518 which has a nice area to attach it to the floor. Just don't make the hole in the floor to big, seal it with RTV when you screw it fast. I'm using the C5 upper leather boot, which I think Steve may also be using, #10326158. PM me if you want pics.

My lower boot is GM #140694408. Both will work fine - there is a metal ring inside of it that you can bend/mold to perfectly fit the floor.

I preferred the old school look with the sunken-in boot and visible shifter arm, so I went with the upper boot Bill was selling.

Best pic I could come up with quickly. Please ignore the mirror switch...
This is a generic one-size-fits-all boot trimmed around a home made ring on the inside attaching it to the plate.

Clutch,

Can you explain how you attached the boot to the ring and the ring to the console? Screwed from bottom?

I'm using a universial Lokar boot. I like it.

Actually, it's screwed from the top. With the holes pre-drilled, I went through the stick opening and secured it after stretching the leather around the ring.

That is the lower boot I used, it is nice and big and you can form it to the shape of the floor. Mine says 6-Speed right on the top!
Right now that is the only one I am using but I am going to put the console back in so I will go with a leather one like my BMW has.

Clutch,

Ahh, looks like thats what I need to do after I fab up a ring. The s10 console has an asymetrical opening so I have to do some putzing around with it.

thats the number i gave my parts guy on the c5 shift boot, but i think he said the number might have changed or something, he prety much lost me after he said he can get me one. for the lower shift boot i used the number 10267518 and he said he can order it for like 30-35 bucks. hope this helps. the lower floor boot is for an actual 6 speed f body.

Thanks Jason - I had "1993-2002 F body lower GM 10267518" on my list, but don't think I inquired about that one (either than and I did but the price was insane or something). Next time I have things apart I may pick one up as the used one I found wasn't in as good of shape as I'd like.

I'm not sure, but I believe the plastic ring is part of the boot IIRC.
