The saturday morning episode of "Sports car Revolution" starring hosts Peter Klutt and his sidekick Tom Hnatiw (also from Dream car Garage) featured a VERY clean and tasty blue flamed MCSS.
The car was subjected to a dyno pull to dial in the tuning. It was described as a "mulletmobile" and "the g-body as the last of the V8, rear-wheel drive cars made by GM".
I love it, finally our cars are getting the recognition and exposure it deserves.

I seen it. Kinda hit a nerve with me calling it the "mulletmobile". A 80's camaro should have that name.

That SS is owned by a board member on here \:\) . It has been brought up before including the crappy remark about a mullet...whatever  . Every American muscle car can be called a mullet-mobile really.

Too bad they didn't have a full frame(not in first gen, never looked under a 2nd gen, not in 3rd gen, and not in 4th gen either)

The shame is they F'd the saying about G-bodys... Its "The last full framed, CARBERATED V8, RWD, 2 door luxury muscle cars mad by GM"

LOL, thanks for noticing my car and thanks for the compliments \:\) . Yeah that mulletmobile comment kinda ticked me off (it was dubed in afterwards) but oh well. I did get 4 free pulls on the dyno so I can't complain, thanks again.

I missed the show too. So what did the car make on the dyno? I would guess around 280-300 horsepower and about 350 foot lbs.

I was actually dissapointed with the numbers it put down, if I remember correctley the best run was 260 HP/300 ft/lbs at the wheels. After I got home I decided to give everything a once over to find out what was up. I ended up finding that the Mallory billet distributor I put in the car ate the advance bushings after only 2 weeks of run time, so my timing was bouncing all over the place and I wasn't getting anything past 24 degrees even though I had about 12 degrees initial in it.

Oh well, since then I've rebuilt that motor again with a set of Edelbrock aluminum heads and a new Lunati Voodoo cam so I'm interested in seeing what kind of numbers it'll make now.

I'm curious to see what kind of power you get with the Edelbrock heads. It seems all the car magazines are using the Air Flow Research heads on all their small block buildups recently. Are you still going to run the Holley 670 carb or step it up to the 750?

I would have liked to go with the AFR street heads, but I just couldn't swing the cash for em. I picked up the performer RPM heads on sale at a local speedshop for a good price so thats really the only reason I went with them. I'm going to keep the 670 carb for the time being, I've jetted it up a couple sizes front and rear as a starting point. We'll see how it goes, I'm hoping for a tad over 400 horse at the crank from this combination.
