I bought a new Weiand Stealth to go along with my re-build plans over the winter, turns out they dont have a polished version for the rectangular port BBC heads,so I am doing it myself.Heres some pics so far.

This is after about 4-5 hours, big difference I think.
I really like the look of polished aluminum.
I was thinking that after I am all done that it might look nice to do the Weiand & Stealth in bright red,or glossy black.

What does everybody use to polish ther aluminum stuff? I like to hear about stuff that may be around your house if possible. That intake is looking good. It's funny sometimes by the time you put it back on and all the bolt-ons you can't see alot of it. Find them areas and focus elsewhere-LOL!

One outlet is tapped, that is the bypass,I think the 2 heater hoses go to the water pump.
I have been using my MotoMaster Demel type tool & accesories, and hand sanding with 50,80,& medium emery paper, got a ways to go yet.I also use aluminum polish on a piece of green Scotch Brite pad, work it in good, then wipe clean.

Here's what I've done in about an hour with primitive tatics I'm sure, but actually I think it looks ok for a drill and $.88 box of steelwool(I'm still on my first pad!), just need to have the dents removed from the runners

BTW, I just noticed that a deepfreezer must be a popular workbench!

Wow, that thing is sweet. Way to much chrome for me though. I hate polishing.

From experience, to save you a lot of time start out with something like 180-220 grit sand paper, get the area smooth then start with finer and finer grit paper, or if you have a right angle air grinder use the Roloc disc's to knock everything down, it works a lot faster than just using the steel wool from the begining atleast untill everything gets to the point of getting the high shine out of it.
