My truck 03 GMC Serria passangers side window decided to jam up the other day about 4 inches from closing. So opened up the door panel and managed to get it closed. Any advice on what to look for or how to trouble shoot this. The motor seems to still be working but acts like it is jamed up and does not have enough to move the window. Looks like it has a cable that is ran around thru the door to make the window move up and down? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are in need of a new window regulator assembly, dealer should have it in stock. They are pretty common to go bad, ussually the cable pulls out of the platic that holds the cable and the cable gets all wound up around the motor.

ss4ever, thanks, that is what looks like happened. Cable around the motor. Will let you kno what comes out of this. Need a little nice weather to do it. No longer under warrenty. Atleast they have big enough holes in the door to actually be able to work on it.

Yes. I would remove the regulator and look it over really well before getting a new one. I repaired the one in my wifes Deville for less than 2 bucks with u bolts from Lowes.

I think that I will use my hookup and see if I can just run a new cable. Should not be that hard, since I do it for jet planes.
