Get a test light and start pulling fuses at the box to check for current draw. Good luck!

if you have an amp with your stereo it could be staying on after you turn the car off

Let me know if you find anything. I might be able to come over with a test light and figure it out for you. Just for kicks, are you positive the battery is good? If you are not positive just charge the battery and un-hook it and leave it for a few days then hook it back up and if the battery doesn't hold a charge then it is shot.

Yea I know the battery is good because I just replaced it last week. It's an Optima red top. Thanks for the offer to help, we need to get together before I leave anyway. Maybe you and the wife can comeover some saturday and we can grill up some burgers or something. I do need help with a few small things. I just dropped the car off to get the tranny swapped out, he said it will be done tomarrow. I've got my fingers crossed on that. On a good note, the guy doing the swap has a badass '87 SS that runs 10's. He asked what the address for the forum was, I think he may join.

Sounds like a bad alternator.

I hope not. it's new. As well as the starter(damn high compression). But you never know, when I drove it to the tranny shop it only maintained 12 volts. When she comes home(hopefully today) my dad and I are going to check it out. Never know, with all the electical problems I'm having I may have a bad ground.
