How do you remove the headrests from seats in our cars? Never attempted it before....

Use a dull hacksaw blade. Don't pull the headrest all the way to the top though. Slide in the blade and you will feel the mechanism engage/disengage as to slide it in. Then pull up on the headrest and blade together and it will simple slide out. HTH

Are you ready to change them in Decatur Paul?

Long story, my SS isn't coming \:\( . I told Brian the sob story of my motor and how its taking forever to get fixed(IMO should of taken maybe 2 weeks, took well over a month) so I'm taking the LS again .

So the SS's headrests are still in the car, but was curious to possibly have them removed by JLP since the car is at his place, about 1.5 hours away from here...but he has his hands full getting his 79' ready and is leaving tommorow already so its understandable he can't get to it \:\) .

Not what I envisioned or planned for the Nats a couple months ago but I will be there and still have a good time, hopefully next time I go I have my SS  .

Hmm, we've tried removing a set last week with no luck. Guess not having them all the way up could help.

Rodney's headrests are in Kyle's car right now and if we can figure out how to remove them you can have them.....on Sunday ;\) . We'll bring a few blades along.

See ya in Decatur!

Are you going to be at the NMCOA nats? If so we can pratice on a few seats. I've tried three times on different seats and cannot get any headrest to come out!

About to finally try to swap out the headrests...anyone with a good answer? I will try to use something to stick down the headrest but we'll see.

Well that pretty much it. You need to go in from the front of the headrest. I removed a set a few weeks ago using a bent butter knife (90*) that I made just for the job, and they came right out.

Got them done today, was pretty easy. Used a steak knife with bendy blade to get the first latch loose, then a long hacksaw blade to get the other one to set them free. \:\)
