Ebay sales it cheaper then por-15 website itself. Not by much maybe 5-10 cheaper. I bought a quart and done my floors from front to rear, whole thing in two coats, I had some left over too. Good stuff. Alot reccomend you buy the degreaser/marine clean and clean it all up first, then the metal-ready/etching stuff. Then put the por-15 on and you are done. it will come with instructions or you can go to their website and read them and find out anything else.

E-Bay is the way to go. I just bought some there too for a great price.

I see you're in Shelby Twp/Sterling Hts. I work at Sherman's on 28 Mile & Van Dyke and we sell Chassis Saver paint which is the exact formula as POR-15. The gallon sells for $74, quart $25, or 8 oz can $10.75. I painted the bottom of my doors and all of my suspension with this stuff and love it...I can vouch that it is the exact same as POR-15 since I have used both. A quart seems to last forever.

The replacement parts at Sherman's are the same ones you buy from Year One, Dixie Monte Carlo, or any other restoration place--they are all made in Taiwan and are just about as good as OEM pieces for half the price. A good body shop can prep and paint an aftermarket piece to look better than the factory.

Jason, I'll most likely be visiting that area at Thanksgiving time; don't live there though; will you give me Sherman's web address? I'll go "shopping" in person the day after Thanksgiving ;\)
Thanks!

Chassis Saver is ok, but it will not stop the rust forever. I is close to por15.

Man, I wish I still lived up there. There is hardly anybody here with a Monte Carlo. I use to live right off of 17 mile and my Grandma still lives at 14 and Ryan. I try to make it up at least once a year, usually for the Dream Cruise.

well I POR 15 my bottoms of my doors and rockers of my car and the I decided to do the cab corner of my truck because they were starting to rust. This last weekend I noticed the the cab corners are rusting throu. I hope I didn't apply the POR 15 right. I marine cleaned it the I metel ready it. Everything step by step. Just the cab corner are just meant to rust out on my truck.

Remember that POR-15 uses water in the air to cure, rather than dry from inside out through evaporation. What that means is that imperfections, and rust "veins" can still be seen after the part has been treated. You can always put on a second coat if you want a smooth powder-coat-like finish. But if you coat a rusted part, there will be residual texture.
