I have some stuff called Luster Lace coming in today that was reccomended for my polished aluminum wheels, to protect them from the nasty salt demons of MD. Has anybody ever used it before?

I'll post my experiences with it after I try it out ;\)

Never heard of it, let me know how it works out for ya! I use some stuff called "X-treme" polish, it does one heck of a job on polishing things out!

I have some mothers polish too, but I think this is more of a sealer like Zoops. It comes in a "goo" (boss's words) \:D and im gonna try to pout it on with a chinelle (sp?) cloth.

Well, I used it today and it did pretty well. The wheels shine like new again except for a few spots where the salt really got to them. I think I might try it with a powerball.

So far, all I have experienced is the polish part. I dont know how well it will hold up as a sealer yet.

The wheels definately look 1000X better than when I started though.

Take the wheels off or they will eb junk after this season. Any alluminum wheel that is not clear coated should be taken off for winter. Even clear coated wheels shoudl be cleaned ASAP

Yeah, I think I might go ahead and do that. I still have the IROC's, but the tires are toast. I guess I wont be driving it much until the weather clears up.

There are already a few small spots that I am unhappy about, but nothing a powerball shouldnt be able to handle. Absolute worst case is some really fine wet sandpaper followed by buffing. Thank god the wheels are not too intricate.

Well thanks to the kindness of my lovely girlfriend, Angel, I'm now rockin' some '86 SS alloys. They actually dont look half bad with my stance and the tire sizes. The ride is a little softer too! \:D

Now just one more cleaning/polishing of the rims and they can go into hibernation until spring time \:\(

I'm surprised you're even driving it in this weather. When the first salt comes down,my cars get locked away. Get an old beater for winter. That car looks too good to drive in winter.

I have a '91 Corolla that I drive as a daily. I dont really drive it in the Winter anymore. Its just that sometimes if the roads are clean, I cant help but jump in her and take her for a quick spin.

And yes, thank god for understanding women

Well thats good to ehar you got them off. To be honest with you I hate polished wheels they are such a pain in the ass!!!! I will prob end up having mine chromed at some point. They are just alot of hassle. Even if they get wet the get all spotted and instantly dull out. I tried zoop seal and will never try it again. After I sealed the wheels i got these little tiny spots of sealer still on the wheel. It wasnt something you could see far away but i could when i was cleaning them, and it didnt make me so happy with brand new wheels.

Well I washed the Monte the other day, and they seemed to have come out SPOTLESS.

It was hard to tell though, as the best look I got was under a street lamp. And of course... it rained that night

Brad, please remove your picture in your sig. It does not meet the proper size limitations or "Monte specific" as per the guidelines. I would have normally PMed this request, but you have your PM capability turned off. Thanks in advance for your compliance in this matter. And Welcome to the site.
