Hey everyone,

For anyone that has these wheels on your SS, can any of you give me a measurement of the rear wheel. Inner lip to frame. Want to see how much room there is

1987 Monte Carlo SS with T-Tops, lowered with Belltech drop spindles and lowering springs. LS1 brakes up front and LT1 brakes in the rear. Trying to make a comeback!

1- 1/8" is the smallest measurement on my car, the rear is lowered 2-1/2" and coilovers, other than that everything is stock. Hth.

Thank you very much. You're using any spacers at all?

Hi T-Top,

I think that in order for your query to yield value, you need more information, like rim width and tire width.

After all, a bicycle tire would offer amazing clearance inside and outside (!)

245/45/17 , 17x8, and 4 -1/4" backspacing. I just assumed he knew the dimensions of the wheel since he was asking about the n90 replicas.

Just as an additional point of reverence, the section width is 9.6" for the 245/45/17, g-Force Sport Comp 2, Brent is running. That could help determine how much room you would have if using a different brand tire with a different section width and/or a wheel with different backspacing

Original owner of 1985 SS black hardtop w/gray interior. Frame-on restoration in progress. 406 sleeper w/ heavily ported FIRST TPI. 1.875" headers and dual 3.5" Borla exhaust. TH400, Ford 9", anti-roll bar, and notched frame. Dropped 2", 18" wheels, and F/R disk brakes. 10-point cage w/swing-out bars, custom gauges, and audiophile stereo system.
