Welcome to the forum!! As far as I know, no 4th gen Monte came with a factory moon roof. The options were hard top or T-top. I'd take it to a shop in your area that does aftermarket moonroof installs and such and ask them what your options are.

1988 Monte Carlo SS w/ T-tops, White with gray int, 350, Summit cam, World Torquer S/R heads, Holley St. Dominator intake, Edelbrock 600cfm carb, Champion 3-row alum radiator, ramchargers, 200-r4 with CK Shift Kit, billet servo, 2200 stall, Afterburner headers, Pypes 2.5" with x-pipe, Violator mufflers (stock exit), S10 front brake swap.

X2 on Blade's response. Local shop is going to be your best bet.

There was not a sun/moon/astro roof option for the 4th gen SS. I know back in the day, some dealerships were getting shops to install them though. Now, you could get one in the 78-80 Montes and they were available in 81-88 Regals (a college roommate had one), including the T-types and GNs (I'm not sure about the others brands). The true factor installed sun/moon/astro roofs had rolled sheet metal and no trim on the roof.

So the tell-tale for most all the aftermarket, including the "dealer installed" roofs, they'll have a trim piece on the roof's sheet metal - that is unless someone welded in a roof or roof section of a factory sun/moon/astro roof.

Original owner of 1985 SS black hardtop w/gray interior. Frame-on restoration in progress. 406 sleeper w/ heavily ported FIRST TPI. 1.875" headers and dual 3.5" Borla exhaust. TH400, Ford 9", anti-roll bar, and notched frame. Dropped 2", 18" wheels, and F/R disk brakes. 10-point cage w/swing-out bars, custom gauges, and audiophile stereo system.
