Has anyone ever used a flat electric fan with the stock mechanical shroud? I have a flex fan now,it cools great. Wanting to go with electric.

When I did my electric conversion. I got rid of the stock fan shroud. And I used a stock Z24 fan. ( had many as spares) they are a 16 inch fan. Easy to mount. Just got a flexlite controller and wired accordingly. Works great.
