Selling to me? Tree-fiddy.

I'm sure you know but price depends on condition. Miles. Usage. Rust. Etc. Pictures help too.

I could not give mine away for free, I ended up scrapping it for $12 at a metal recylcer.
It was in perfect condition.

This has come up before but location makes a difference as you can tell by upflying’s experience. I had a 3.73 posi in a parts car several years ago that sold for $350 and I literally was still removing it as the person was on his way to pick it up.

Had one listed for $300 and got hit with $150 offer...told the buyer to give me a few minutes so I can pull the posi, ring and pinion. He declined to buy it! laugh

Call a regional driveline shop that works with higher performance cars. Always looking for that posi rear. When i upgraded, gave my stock posi to my shop. They thought they could get $125 for it????

There are several types of Posi carriers - Clutch type (popular), Auburn Cone type (less popular) and Gov Lock type (not popular - break easy). I guess the question depends on the posi type. I would assume we're talking about Monte SS posi?

I find most people "pass" on original Monte SS (85-88) 7.65 Posi's for a few reasons:
1. due to the Auburn Cone Type posi carrier (not serviceable)
2. 26 spline axles - not as strong as 28 or greater
3. Overall weak 7.5 & 7.65 Ring/Pinon can't take too much abuse.

Even for those who don't drive hard but still want an occasional Posi Burnout I believe the original Auburn Cone Type posi is not an attractive option, as a Used POSI. They work great when new or when still having low mileage BUT once the "cone" wears out the posi affect starts slipping. The entire Auburn Carrier will need to be replaced as they are NOT serviceable. A new Auburn carrier is approx $400 plus install.

Family first, car hobby second makes for slow progress but memorable experiences.

I've sold 2 of them over the years......they sold immediately with a ton of interest if I remember correctly. There's a lot of guys around my area with regals, cutlass's, malibus, etc. with a factory 2.XX non-posi rear. A drop in 3.73 posi rear is a nice upgrade for not alot of $$.
