Is there a specific reason you want one? All you need is a paperclip & some patience to count the "check engine light" flashes to get your codes.

A scanner can show live data from the sensors. Old Alltest Brainmasters are pretty good.

SBC powered 1987 Regal with TES headers, ZZ4 intake, ZZ4 PROM chip, mini starter, THM2004R, 2500 stall converter, 2040 cam, CCC system, and 3.73 posi rear.

2008 ex NPS P71 Crown Victoria, cop motor, cop shocks, cop brakes, and Jmod.

Never argue with an idiot.
They will just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yep, the old Brainmaster is still the best bargain scanner to do the CCC. Ebay has a dozen on there now. You want the 3250 model, lower numbers are older versions of the 3250.

This is what I use. Plugs into aldl and cig lighter. You can watch all sensor data and datalog. Also shows codes. You just connect via Bluetooth to your phone and run the aldl scan app and everything is right there on your phone. You can also run it on tunerpro rt and other apps.

My son was able to score a OTC scanner from ebay a few years ago. It also displays real time all the sensor functions/ engine vacuum, coolant temp, rpm call-outs, so there is no guess work.

I also have an OTC scanner, for when I work on someone's OBD 1 car/truck.
