I haven't been on here much, but, here is what I have been doing lately.

[Linked Image]

I was not fond of the aftermarket accessory drive setups to use the supercharger with high mount AC, or I didn't want to pay for it. So I decided to notch the front crossmember a little bit. I have the engine set back 1", so I had to make my own motor mount for the passenger side, otherwise it would interfere with the AC compressor.

I had to move the Vette power steering reservior for this. I made a bracket to attach it to the drivers side inner fender/fuse box bracket.

Not quite running yet. Need to figure out what I am doing for the heat exchanger & hose routing, & need to redo some of the fuel line.

Looks nice! I'm debating notching the crossmember like that to run the low mount, I just have a hard time going with the high mount for some reason. I'd like to run turbo at some point, and it seems like the low mount would make life much easier.
Is that the factory compressor, or one of the Mini Sanden units?

Scot, really good to see you piecing that car back together. Your son will be asking for the keys pretty soon.

I mentioned to him the other day that I wanted to find an 87/88 gray/black with gray interior one. And immediately he commented "NO", dont sell this one. Then said if i do get a different one, he wants this one. I said, well if that happens, it will NOT have this engine/trans in it. He said "OK".

Hi Tuned,

Some context please. So what engine/tranny do you have, and why would it not go to your son? Have you driven the car yet?

Thx,
MAP

Engine is a 2008 LS2 6.0L, with LS3 heads, LS9 cam, LSA supercharger. Estimating horsepower 600ish.
Trans close ratio T56 Magnum, 3.42 GN rear, 13" vette brakes up front, 12" Vette disc rear.

My son is now 14, so not giving something with that much power to him. IF I find another car, I will probably put a 4.8 or 5.3 in this one with an automatic & he can drive that.

*IF* I was to get a different car, I would swap the motor & trans to it, I would teach him to drive a stick, but I am keeping the magnum for myself.

Hi Tuned - perfect -thanks! As for HP, a rule of thumb I use is age in years multiplied by ten. So, the older you get, the faster you go. Sounds good to me!

But have you actually driven the car yet in the state you describe?

Best,
MAP

So for him at 16 years old, the stock 305 is about right at 170ish HP.

I have not driven it yet with the supercharger. Trying to work out the heat exchanger, fuel line routing, & tune. Start with an LS2 tune, use LS3 airflow values, LS9 cam info, & LSA timing.....? AAAAHHHHH

I don't know what actual HP numbers will be. Stock LS9 says 636, I am .2 cubes smaller, don't know how that will affect HP.
