CELEBRATING 20 YEARS!

My neighbor passed away and the family is going to be offering it up for sale. Black with Red interior. Has all options less t-tops. Car has 614 miles on it and is under a ton of dust but has been indoors for the whole time. I was hoping to find someone that could give them a fair price for this. The mechanic said 20-22K?

Sorry about your neighbor but a lot depends on how much work it needs to be presentable let alone driveable and also how the conditions where where/how it was stored. Once it's cleaned up and there aren't any issues from storage (moisture/rust, mice damage) it should be easily worth 20k, but how much more depends on all of those details. If it was cleaned up into show quality shape, runs/drives ok and is as spotless as a 614 mile car should be, I wouldn't be surprised if the upper 20's or even higher using the right platform to sell it (not parked on the local corner or Craigslist/Facebook). Any documentation helps too I'm sure and the more options the better of course for value.

I could see it needing a new battery, spark plugs, and gas tank, do not even try to start it with the varnish in the tank, maybe remove and
clean/rebuild the carb (?). The tank 'may' be OK, just drain it and clean it.

WOW! Under a 1000 mile 1987 car. I agree with What Paul said, it would depend on the storage conditions for us to make a guess on value.
Did your mechanic see the car to evaluate it? It may possibly be the lowest mile 1987 Monte SS in the country - that alone gives it great value.

I am going over tomorrow night to take pictures and video. I dont think their mechanic even looked at it. I want to document everything as we pull it out of the garage and have it pro detailed. I have one picture of it, just cant figure out how to add it to this thread.

Unless you have posted it in an online photo album, you won't be able to post it here til about 10 posts. I hope the detailing turns out perfect!!
