The hinge was pricey as I bought it straight from the Australian importer of the hinge in FL. For some reason the shipping was almost the same as the cost of the hinge, total cost $52, but it was impressible packaged and only two day ship. The same hinge is on Ebay from North East Hinge, who gets it from the same place I got mine.
If I wouldn't have gone this hinge route my next, reluctantly, choice was seeing if Mike still had those PRICEY GM lids available.

The hinge is cool and if it stays adhered to that soft plastic the lid is made of I know the carbon fiber and Kevlar will last forever.

Just saw on Talon's website, https://www.carbonhinge.com/ that now McMaster Carr is selling his product.

Haven't driven the car since the finished lid install, spindle project overtime, but will quickly take it for granted, it's one of those things you don't miss until is not there.

Paul, I think you were at the Cleveland NMCOA convention. If you remember Kevin, he had a brown Monte CL that was very fresh and had a engine that looked totally stock, 305ish but I think it was a wolf (400 cu in) in sheep's clothing. That is where the new console lid was purchased from him. He had a quantity of them and even had the various spray paint to color them, he sprayed mine in the parking lot.
Must have be like 2003.

Emailed the maker of the hinge in Australia, sent him pics and a link to the post. He was thankful and likes to see where his product gets used. He also said he was going to send info to Airbus on this application, cool, they are interested in his product.
