Aloha guys. It's been a while. As of today, I'm still fighting the car as still have some gremlins here and there after it came back from the body shop almost year ago. I'm finding all kind of stuff as I drive along. But this one is my fault.

I noticed that when I started up the car this morning, car ran rough, like I have vacuum leak or missing a cylinder. But as the car warmed up, it did get little better, but still rough. Like vacuum leak, when up to speed, car is fine. It also shifts fine, but it hesitate a little when you give a gas but accelerate fine after that. At this point, I was on the way to work and had no time to check the car (about 15 minute drive). After work, I had to drive to my second job, another 10 minute drive. That's when I found out that I was low on fluids. Engine was low on oil about a quart. Trans was also low on fluid, about quart. I did add these fluids and started up but still rough. This is when I heard noise from under the car.

I started the car and heard what it sound like a knocking sound coming from under the car. Just to make sure, I open the hood and listen for the same sound in engine room, but didn't hear any. look under the car, and noise is still there.
Now, I'm not too worried about the trans, in a certain way. I do have two trans under the house, but I'm currently working on my DD Lincoln, so SS needs to be up and running for about another week or so, until this weekend anyway.

What will be your guess as to what's wrong? Car runs rough, but once it up to speed, it drive and shifts fine. But every time I come to stop, I have to step on the gas a little to keep the rev up. Like I mentioned before, I just needs the car for another week or so. After that, I will swap out the trans.

Any idea or help will be great. As always, thanks guys.

I don't think a quart low on either the engine or trans will hurt anything.
It sounds like the TC isn't unlocking when you slow to a stop.
Lift the rear of the car on jackstands, block the front wheels, start her up and crawl underneath for a listen.
Use a mechanics stethoscope to probe for the sound. Run it up and down through the gears, keep away from moving parts.

Yeah, I thought so. I been there before and nothing ever happened, specially on SBC. I also did this on 200-4R before, but I was bit worried since I don't know how long it was low on fluid.

Yeah, I forgot about the solenoid. I will tackle this as soon as I get my DD Lincoln fix first. Since I have her up on the stand, I just don't have space to work on my SS.

Thanks both of you. I'm just hoping that it's just that simple.

check for crack in flex plate between spokes. I had one crack on me once thought it was a rod knock pulled the motor tore it down and found nothing wrong inside. Had a friend tell me about a cracked flex plate and sure enough it had two cracks. but was a good excuse to freshen up the motor.
