The Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals are soon upon us, June 22-24. It's on my calendar to make my usual Sat morning appearance. Would hope the "regulars" will be there, and as always first timers are welcome. Other than the NMCOA conventions you won't see a collection of quality G-bodies elsewhere.

My son and I will be coming up from Virginia, but in a truck, not the Monte.

I'll have a shirt on that has the same pic of my Monte as the pic in my signature.

In attendance as always. We will again be under our tent at our own little Oasis.

So change of plans. Decided it wasn't going to be a good trip with it raining there all weekend.

Yes, rain and car events don't play well together. But I'm still going despite the weather, only see these guys maybe once a year, great group of people and cars.
From the lousy weather info these days on the tv it looks like the middle part of the day will be OK.

and that's a wrap... Great turn out of cars given the weather forecast.

Hope everyone got home without any problems. Despite the crappie weather and some cars not seeing the sun until Sun always a pleasure to meet up with the Monte guys.
UMI was friendly as usual and was happy to see some of "us".

Sat morning it rained for most of the 100 mile trip, the car got filthy, didn't bother to clean it, it's just a driver. The drive home was dry, and uneventful, only an erratic oil pressure gauge issue. Cruising at 72, 2400 the needle would sweep between 80 and much over that, then sometimes peg, very erratic and reading very high. Normally idle is 60 cold, 40 hot, cold may run closer to 80 at cruise rpm, 60 hot. It's not the gauge, it's the sender again. Nobody makes a quality bolt in 80 psi sender anymore.

Looking forward to the next time.
Bob

Bob,

My buddy at quick car says the pressure senders need to be off the block, the vibration kills them, with temp it is what it is. According to him, almost always its a sender not a gauge, something that should be considered a wear item almost.
