I've been riding on an old set of Pontiac Rallye II wheels since I bought my Monte but one of them is bent so I need to go ahead and cough up the cash for a new set. I was looking at these Aero circle track wheels; that's a great price and I love the NASCAR aesthetic but I wanted to see if anyone here has used them and how they worked for you. Did they work with the factory studs and lug nuts? Any issue with tires or balancing?

Also, the specs say 13mm negative offset. I understand the factory rims are 3mm negative offset, how would you adjust backspacing to give them a close-to-stock stance? Should I go with 3" backspacing maybe? If I can't get it exactly stock, I'd rather have them sit slightly further out than further in, purely for looks.

Alternatively, what about these Bassetts? They don't list an offset so I'm guessing it's zero? DOT-approved for basically the same price is a plus for sure.

I ran the bassetts for a while on my car but didn't like black car, black wheel combo after a while. I ordered the lugnuts with the wheels, they were 1" socket size and some kind of plain steel that rusted over quickly; not that they rusted away but got that skim cote of rust. Definitely geared toward strong and useful more than athestics. No complaints with mine other than I think I bent one or some how it got out of round because I could never get a smooth ride after a couple years even tho I had them rebalanced a couple times.

I like the Basset Inertia wheels myself

I think all the DOT means is they paid for the sticker, could be wrong.

Circle track wheels are going to be rated by backspace but called offset, for example most dirt modifieds run "2 offs" with a "4 off" RR that they can turn to a "3 off" with a 1" spacer.
Whatever summit and jegs list has been translated to correct terminology

As with all circle track wheels you need racing lugnuts. 45* taper instead of 60* like a stock vehicle.

Allstar has these in just about any thread you need. ( I have a set in 1/2-20 if you need it)

Stay away from Bart wheels

Don't forget to install some Joes dust caps to complete the look of the wheel.

Those are made to recess down into the drive flange of their hubs, I think using it on anything else will keep the wheel from seating on the WMS

That or similar would be the ticket

I measured the hub on the bassetts I had and called summit and bought some version like MC96 just linked but got chrome instead.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll try to remember to share some photos when I get everything installed. I'm going to be "that guy" who has a total junk car with nice shiny rims.

I was going to run those Basset inertia's and have a friend who pinstripes match the factory stripes over the red stripe they come with.
