Well the 400 is going back together and I was curious on what you guys use for oil pressure systems.

I'm using a sunpro autozone setup that I like, but constantly leaks from the fitting in the block. I replace them every few weeks but they just don't last. So I'm curious on what you guys prefer

They may be a little "rice" for some but the glowshift gauges have worked out great for me. What I like about them the most is the high/low warning features the gauges have built into them.

What part of the fitting leaks?

when it comes to gauges, you get what you pay for. I only use AutoMeter. Phantom IIs this time around, ProComp on the last car. AutoMeter has better fittings.

In my car I use the factory gauges, but in my wife's Mercury we went with a full custom setup. We used gauges from speedhut.com. I HIGHLY recommend them. Extremely customizable! We were even able to add the script "Montego" logo to her speedomoter. Very easy to wire in and calibrate, if needed. All for around the same price as a set of AutoMeters. I have not seen any leaks as of yet, but they really shouldn't leak.

Does the factory oil pressure gauge work?

The part that the line goes into its a 2 piece fitting. The part that screws Into the block and then a cap that mates it with the line.

The gauge works but that fitting just leaks no matter what. Maybe it's the line that comes with it. But I'm definitely going to look into what you guys suggested. Thanks for suggestions

And upflying, no the factory one does not work.
