My 86 SS won't start and someone mentioned cleaning the battery terminals. They have some corrosion on them.
Any suggestions? I watched some YouTube videos but figured ask here first.

Simple as remove connections and clean with a wire brush. They sell a tool at the auto parts store for like $3.

Not recommended as a legitimate fix, but pouring Coca Cola on the terminals can often get one going in a roadside repair emergency type situation. I don't know that it has to be Coca Cola, but I think the high acidity and possibly some mechanical action from the carbonation that gets it broken up and cleaned off. I've used that on a number of vehicles with decent success. Obviously it's only a fix if you have corroded terminals and can't revive a dead battery or fix a faulty ignition switch smile

It ain't much off the line, but it's nice on the highway

Baking soda mixed with water cleans the battery terminals.
Use this to clean the terminals.

coat the terminal and cable surfaces with battery terminal coating to minimize corrosion in the future.

Back in the day, Vaseline was used to prevent corrosion.

the side terminal batteries used in these cars tend to have cracks around where the connector enters/exits the battery case and corrosion is a big problem, the Delco batteries have been bad for this, good luck.
