I've been starting up the Monte a couple times a week during the winter but not able to drive around due to snow and salt. Tried to start the other day and car wasn't turning over at all. All I hear is clicking (which I believe is the starter?). I tried tapping on the starter and selinoid and still no start. The lights and radio work, so the battery works. However, the terminals do have some corrosion.

Any ideas? This is kind of new to me. Thanks!

Check the actual voltage, the lights and radio don't use near the amperage the starter does.

overnight charge if in doubt and you have one available
cold weather takes its toll and short warmups don't really put enough power back in...

Sounds like you killed the battery. Short startups as AkronAero said don't really help. When storing a car for winter you should avoid starting it and use a battery tender/trickle charger. Clean the battery terminals, and get a jump start or borrow a battery charger.

I store my car during the winter on a Battery Tender.
Starts up every Spring, no problems. Batteries last 10 yrs or more.
Clicking is a dead battery.

You've been starting it a couple times a week all winter. This means even a low battery should be able to fire it right up. But this time, you hear a clicking noise and see corrosion on the terminals.

I say your problem is not with the battery, but with the terminals. Clean them up good, and it should start right up.

It was the battery. Replaced it and the car started right up. Tried cleaning the terminals but corrosion was pretty bad still. Replaced those as well. Just in time for the good weather. Plan on getting a battery tender for next winter. Thanks for the advice!!
