Used to be stuff like this was $300. Are near junk Monte Carlo SS's worth this much now or is the seller dreaming?

I think thats way over priced, but the only montes I see come on my local CL are in that condition or worse and owners want $3-$4k. I would never pay that.

Thats a MAYBE $500 parts car.

That price is very stupid but I don't remember when a complete SS could ever be had for $300 smile . I purchased a rough 86'LS once for $300 that ran/drove fine, was my beater for a short time back in about 2003, that was a deal partly because I knew the owner. Bought/sold a couple complete SS's between 1999-2001 for 1k or so each that were rough but complete cars that ran/drove and drove them each for awhile.

I'd say this is worth $600-800, likely more with the probable lack of rust giving added value in my area.

Could also be a wife/mom/significant other telling the unwilling owner to get rid of that POS..
"I have it listed for sale on CL but I have not heard from anyone wanting to buy it yet". "It's a classic, you know, it's worth a lot". "it's got racing tires too"

Possible, similar to some nice cars, a couple nice SS's I've seen recently for sale on Gateway Classics for 30-40k but are 10-20k cars.

Don't drink the bong water. That is a $50 dirt track project. No way he will ever see that price in that condition.

I wouldn't waste my time to even part it.

I wouldn't take it for free.

I honestly doubt there are any good parts.

giveup and junk it.

Wash it, wax it and buff it out and it will look like new.

Figure it's worth $150-200 in scrap, and at least around here local dirt track guys would pay an easy $100-300+ for that frame/shell alone. So those are the bottom dollar prices from how I see it, all joking aside.

Couldn't help but notice, missing title too.
Around me, it's a $300-400 car.
