Hello everyone it's been a long time since I have posted on here but I frequently read stuff on the forum. Took the Monte for a ride the other night about 30-40 minutes and zero issues. Stopped at Lowes for literally 10 mins and came back out and nothing! Had the car towed home due to not being able to jump it and I have free towing through AMA. When I got the car home on Friday morning it started right up with no issues. I checked the battery with the car not running and it read 12.55 and over 14 while running. Tuesday the car started the same as before like nothing happened but today it won't start again. The battery is reading the same so I don't know what it could be? I am thinking the starter and gonna get it tested this weekend. Anyone ever have these issues and could possibly give me some advice? Thanks in advance.

The next time it does that, take the tire iron and smack the starter 4-5 good raps with it.

See if it starts after that.

It may be heat soak for the starter. A common modification is to convert to a Ford style remote starter solenoid.

I have took the battery loose and cleaned and tightened the terminals.

Good catch, no longer in Okinawa! I changed it to reflect Jacksonville, NC.

Starter changed and all seems good to go so far. It was a pain to do and had help from a co-worker, not sure how bad it would have been with stock headers but with the eldebrock TES ones it was a pain!

I was going to go with what Buick Runner said.
Mine does the same thing, I even have the newer F-Body small reduction-gear starter but 125 deg F outside temp, 11:0.1 compression and it's a given if I shut it off I will have to wait for it to cool.
I have a Ford solenoid and the battery is in the trunk, I am going to go to a high torque starter and maybe 2 batters in parallel.
