I am looking to put a set of 1 5/8 long tubes on my monte. I have since lowered the front 2 inches since doing my 350 build this past summer. Anyone have any problems with dragging with long tubes and lowering? Was also looking at Hedman 68600 shortys as an alternative. Any other suggestions? I do have a set of 1 1/2 ceramic coated long tubes that I bought off a fellow site member but think they may be a little small for the 350.

I'm running 1-5/8" Hooker Comp (Stainless) 2451-2HKR. (For flat not raised or angled ports if you are changing heads....) with 2" drop spindles on a crate 383. Love them and can't image any dragging. However, I had one of the tubes on the passenger side barely touching the frame. Chose to hard mount the engine to the frame to cut down on vibration and to notch the frame just at that point (cut out a small 45 deg slice and turn inside out and reweld.).
Again - lots of room underneath in front. Bigger issue would be the dragging of a rear exit tail pipe with my 1.5" drop springs out back when transitioning up my steep drive. LOL!

Had long tubes and 2" drop spindles on almost all of the SS's that I owned and never had a problem.
