The LCD screen is better quality, & bigger, & user has ability to change colors of backlighting/needle illumination. I havent seen price. Personally I like my, and PB86SS/87LS's custom ones better.

I like yours a lot better. That LCD screen looks out of place to me.

Agree, the LCD screen is out of proportion, it uses too much space.

I've been leaning toward Speedhut Revolution for the cluster and aux gauges as they have lots of electronic capabilities and warnings. The direct fit of the VHX has been compelling, and now the HDX adds some of the features of Speedhut. The funky yellow LCD lights are not the best, but flipping/selecting the white as shown in thier site is a bunch better. Love to hear from someone if they go this route, esp on options and programmable warning lights....

Check some of the color options: http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/p...rod/prd1055.htm

Love the layout of Scott, Paul and others though. wish you had designed the LCD layout too for them.

Was not aware of the Speedhut gauges. Really really like them. So many face choices. Think I will be replacing my Autometer C2 gauges with them. I can't believe how many options you have. Totally custom. Speedhut Gauges

Not a fan of the Dakota version - the screen looks forced and like an out of place afterthought.

They are custom Dakota Digital gauges.

To the guys interested in speedhut gauges. Message 93lt1s10 and ask him how well his 3rd speedhut tach works. I think his fuel gauge refuses to hold calibration as well.

The price, shallow depth for easy mounting and amount of customization you can do is very alluring but after helping install his, and a set for another friend of ours, I'm glad I bought Autometers.

I like the new option from Dakota Digital. I'm ok with size of the LCDs but hope they can display different stuff because I don't need a needle and digital number both telling me how fast I'm going. How about being able to use the tach one as a shift light when activating "race mode"? Use the screen for optional digital readouts of trans and oil temps and fuel pressure? etc.

The current VHX line has small LCD displays on the bottom that can be used for other readouts as well, most(or all?) require an add on module that they offer though, but there are options to read more information http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/category_id=646/mode=cat/cat646.htm.

I've been considering the A/F ratio one myself

Thanks for the info. I did a quick search and can't find anyone who has them that doesn't love them. Found one guy with the fuel level problem on a 3 year old thread but that was about it. Rave reviews everywhere.

Crusher - others here are using Speedhut. Check out Tony's old thread on GPS Speedos: http://www.montecarloss.com/community/ub...true#Post940395
He did lots of custom work. each gauge is available in multiple sizes with warning lights. LCD gauges give track times and other performance recalls. No substitute for the 270 deg sweeps either, unless it makes one nervous watching the fuel level needle move (fall in real time) when you punch the gas....LOL! throw in a few extra gauges for the console and they all match. They share common power and dimming harness too. only thing missing is the gear indicator - have to buy an electronic one if using a column auto. Keep us posted if you go that route...

Pb86 glad to know they have expandable options. Hopefully in the future you wont need different modules for the gauges to understand the inputs.

Crusher, same here and that is why 93lt1 bought his. They present well and his gauges do look very nice but his jittering tach and fuel gauge are reason enough for me to think twice about buying a set. The gauges come with a daisy chain of plugs and wires to connect everything but once you start running the wires you realize that there is going to be a mess behind the dash wire length is too much for some stuff and not enough for others so I ended up chopping up the daisy chain after fighting with them instead of just starting from scratch. Then you also have to mount the control box and dimmer knob that controls the LED illumination and run those wires. Older gas gauges have external button for calibrating them to your sender and you think to yourself "well I'll set it and forget it and not have to mount the button" then it starts reading whacky and you have to tear the dash apart to access your button that you didn't want to drill a hole for when you started the project.

I'm sure I'm cynical but my autometer designer black gauges look good and work well, no complaints there other than I wish they'd make metric sending units for LSx engines instead if having to use adapters for everything.

Thanks Mike I do appreciate the input. But I kinda go with the majority. If 9 out of 10 guys love MT Drag Radials then I'm buying MT Drag radials. Same with these gauges. Other then your experience and one other fuel gauge problem I found everyone loves them. So I will give them a shot. BTW the Speed Huts are replacing my Autometer C2 gauges that have about 2K miles on them. Digital shift light tach has now TWICE burnt out some of the number readouts where I can't read the tach numbers and I'm on my third fuel gauge. Not the norm for sure but I want to give the Speed Huts a try if not just for the customizing ability and several other options the Autometers don't have.

Damn Crusher, since you're no stranger to problematic gauges it certainly looks like you can't do much worse. I'd be switching brands too if I had to replace that many too.
