Hey guys not sure if there is a thread on this but I have an 84 Monte Carlo SS Coupe and I also have a set of T Tops which are in excellent condition and was wondering if I can convert the car to a t-tops car and if this modification is possible. some of you might call me crazy because yes the T Tops are known for leaking but the car is only driven in nice weather and I'm not too worried about that if there's info on this I would like to be directed in the right way or if anybody has thoughts I would love to get some info

Your best bet would be to weld on a complete T-top Roof from a donor car.

You're going to need a doner car roof to weld in...

There was one member on the board here, and did a roof swap between two Monte's.
It was a surgical removal and swap of both roofs.
It was a few years ago. I'll try to find it, the thread had lots of pics.

unless you specifically want an 84 ss t top since they dont exist or have attachment to this particular car id sell and buy a t top car if it were me.

converting an 84 sc with t tops to ss might be simpler to.

I agree with the others. Cut a complete T-Top roof off a donor car and weld it into the coupe. Before you do any welding test fit the side, front and rear glass.
Now would an excellent time to chop that top about 3 inches.
Maybe a little rake?

I have done it before. Straight forward job. Drill all the spot welds out and install the complete T Top roof. It fits right where it should be with minor adjustments needed. Make measurements and pay attention when welding not to over heat.
