Ok so I just purchased an 87 Monte and I'm trying to get all my bulbs workin I started
With nothing but hvac lights so I changed the crtsy fuse got all but dash/ cluster lights and hood light which really may be a bulb but I'd need to buy first to confirm now my next question is concerning my ashtray light, I bought the 1891 and it don't fit is there another bulb which it may be, I also bout that cause I did assume it's was the same sz as the stated 1892 which they didn't carry, so I thought that could sub, nxt part of that question is can I please see pics of what the bulb socket should look like and exactly where should it go, I only have the end with the black/grey wires and don't kno what holds the socket to what, I kno I'm babling but I'm super excited about my purchase and would like to have evry bulb workin oh and in case I didn't mention blinkers and warning lights work as I do have a chk eng light on which I'll figure out once I drive what it's for thanks guys in advance and glad to be here....

Welcome to the forum. You won't get much help until you clean up the punctuation and grammar.

Thanks man I really appreciate your response I really do.......
I didn't know I was signing up for an English and writing/typing class.....
I signed on with intent to unite with other enthusiast who share a common vehicle interest, and hope to gain knowledge from those who are knowledgeable in various areas of my concern. Now I find out you'll only receive the help u need, if at all, once you're judged on your grammar, how u type/talk, and how you appear to whom ever reads your post, regardless if they know the answers to solve your problem...I'm not sure I want to be apart of such community.....
And again thanks I really do appreciate your reply above all....

You're not!

I'm not a spelling nit-picker.

But you should at least take some pride in yourself and the time to try and write your sentences and paragraphs coherently.

It's a simple courtesy to the other forum members here who will be trying to help/answer all your questions.

Thanks, I put the 194 in the ashtray and that works fine.

Does anyone know where I can find the end that covers the ashtray bulb, and where/how does it mount?

Mines just dangling for now, but I would like to set it up correctly.

No problem and welcome aboard.

I believe that the astray bulb simply mounts up under the dash right above where the ashtray resides. If I recall correctly there's a hole in the dash where the bulb and its socket just slip into.

I don't have my Monte SS anymore or I would go out and take a look and snap you a few pictures to confirm its mounting procedure.

As far as parts for interior stuff like that Mike's Monte or Dixie Monte Carlo would be your best place to source any parts you may need.

I'm sure some other forum members will be along to verify the astray bulb and its proper mounting procedure.

It's truly the little details like bulbs etc... that us true car guys get.

If it has a purpose and it's meant to be functional, then we fix it right, regardless.

You got it man, I really like that yellowish lighting too in the ol' car, rather than the led look, I got a newer car for that......
