Falling on some really hard times and thinking about selling my 86 SS. If its ok, I would like to get everyone's opinion about whats a fair price for it.

1986 MC SS, T-Tops, Stock 305 that has a rod knock, good 200r4, Factory rear end. Dents dings scuffs, nothing too bad but you can see them from 10ft. Recently got stolen but recovered so broken column and drivers door lock cylinder was pulled out, also has some front end damage to bumper support. Good tires on Jegs brand 15 in. steel wheels. Front seats have been replaced with buckets from a Mitsubishi eclipse but color matches. No radio, complete A/C heater delete. Electric fan mod. Grand Prix frame braces/stiffening braces mods done (firewall to fender braces, jounce bar brace under rad support, x brace for rad support, homemade brace to tie rear frame rails together). Has some rust thru on upper a pillar under t-top reveal cover. Needs t-top seals. Needs door window seals but I have those.

Again I don't really want to but its getting close unless my job situation changes. Thanks in advance for all input. There are no wrong answers. Let me hear them.

Sorry to hear it, hope things get better. Check sold listings on ebay!

Spitball price if I was buying would be $3000 unseen. Sounds pretty rough.

Sounds like a $1500 car to me.
Falling on hard times is the wrong to sell, buyers will take advantage of your circumstances to low ball you.
Will $1500 help you out or can you hang on and keep your project car?

might be worth it to you to clean up the damage from the theft if you can do it for cheap. Also detail the crap out of it the best you can.

if it's rust free, clean paint, might be able to con someone into $2500

effed up condition with engine problem, $1500 is right

if you have rust, $1000

i have been studying this link for about 3 months
lots of overpriced crap this week

Sorry to hear you might have to sell.
I had to sell 4 of mine in my divorce.
From the way you described the car its needing a lot of work.
Motor, some rust, little body work, paint.
In my area its about a 1000 dollar car.
Just remember, you can always start higher and negotiate down.
Hope it works out for you.

If you can drive it right now and it's a real SS there's no way it's worth less than $2k. There are guys selling rollers for $800!

With a rod knock in that condition I'd say in the 1k-2k range, 2k or more I'd be surprised based on the shape and not really drive able, closer to 1k seems more likely. Can depend on region too, seems the south some cars can be had cheaper based on what I see.
