Hello All, new member to the Monte Carlo SS community here. I've always wanted this era Monte Carlo SS and I've finally made a purchase on one. It's a 1984 with a 350/t350 with 67k miles. Very clean but does need some TLC. I look forward to soaking in all the knowledge you guys have to offer. I'm sure I will have many dumb newb questions, but I'll do my best to search out the answer in previous threads first! smile

Welcome. This board is the best car site you'll find. Very rarely will guys flip out about searches. You got a question, just post it up. Got pics? Blue or white?

No dice. This board seems to work better for me with a photobucket account that will generate a link.

You need 5 posts to post photos, I think!

Thanks! I guess we'll see if it was the 5 post thing after I get 5 posts! I appreciate you reposting them.

It needs more work than it appears in the photos but it's in great overall shape.

I have to change the leaky header and collector gaskets this weekend. After that everything can be done at my own pace. Biggest thing right now is slowing myself down. So many things in mind that I want to do.

I watched your youtube video, that thing sounds mean! I really like the gauge cluster setup you have. I already noticed that the nylon tubing on my aftermarket oil pressure gauge is leaking at the block. I ordered a replacement electric oil pressure/water temp gauge from Summit. Gonna be a busy weekend. Eventually, I would like to set it up something like yours though, that's very clean looking.

Thanks. Open headers in that video helps a bunch.

Took me most of 10 years to get it all done, just keep going and these cars can get where you want them. Keep your eyes peeled and you can find awesome deals on secondhand stuff that's practically new.

I still can't see your pics. I'll mess with it and try going direct.

Do you happen to have any good pictures of your instrument panel? Maybe a list of the sizes you used for each one? Nothing on my dash works except the voltmeter and fuel gauge and even the fuel gauge needle is broken off real short. I'd love to just get rid of all that and put straight aftermarket stuff.

I already ordered these Oil Pressure/Water Temp gauges as a start. Didn't want to do without these two things for any length of time.

All 3&3/8" or 2&1/16". Gutted the thing then built my own custom frame. Tach feed is from msd ignition. Speedo is self calibrating.

Got lucky and found this set used out of a drag car getting a remodel for $250.

Check this thread out! I've had people stick their whole head in the car at cruise nights while the car is moving in real slow traffic. There are some in here that are way better than mine. Custom gauges get a lot of attention from anybody that's had or rode in a stock g body.

Thanks spook. That's real nice looking. There are definitely some great looking setups out there. Gonna make this pretty high on my list. Can't stand having a cluster full of inop gauges.
