Smooth criminal!
Very nice workup. Now with a few cups of coffee in the morning I will try again to digest it all. Thanks for sharing! Exciting times.

Where's the video of the drive, and a few others I enjoyed.

Very nice build and probably the only one I'm envious of, The video was very cool too and brings back some good memories! I'll be moving my rear end this summer on my white SS with a LS7 now that have seen this inspiring build you put together again. I personally enjoyed watching it without the lengthy technical information to sort through. Awesome job!!!! thumbs

Thanks Ron, l’m glad you enjoyed it the way I intended it and that my build would inspire you. Truth be told it was John Bzdel that inspired and helped me along with rickbat and some others. Regards, Matt

Hello to all! Yes I am still alive!

Seems that would be odd to say at any other time before Covid.. Anyway...Apologies I haven't posted in a while as I have been extremely busy with work, moving and updates to the monster...

Yes the beast is under the knife again.. In short, since everything mechanical is done, it's time for paint!

The line up for paint also includes the following:

1. Replacing Door bushings/pins
2. Fixing window and door rattles
3. Replacing the Power window motors
4. Replacing front T-top channels
5. Freshening up the Primary wiring to the Fuse block, Relays for Fans, A/C, PCM, Heat Exchanger pump. also wiring for the Heater Fan, Oil Pressure and Temp senders.
6. Replacing the stock tach with Mikes Montes 8K tach
7. Removing the old carpeting and cleaning up the floor pan, prep and covering with POR 15
8. Removing the wheel well coating, prep and covering with POR 15
9. Preping Trunk, floors and wheel wells then applying Raptor lining to all
10. Replacing the steering shaft bushing with upgrade from Mikes Montes and adjusting column switch so that reverse lights actually come on in reverse.
11. New Windshield
12. New T-Top Kit from Mikes Montes (essentially all the metal pieces).
13, New Weather striping complete kit from Mikes Montes
14. New Door panels, Visors, carpeting, ABS T-top headliner, switches, Door and trunk key set from mikes Montes.
15. Replacing Nose with new GM Nose
16. Updates to LED lighting All except headlights and side marker.

I think that's it?

I have a lot done already and will be posting some videos as time permits.

Regards,

Matt

Good to see you back, always loved the car, and it's build quality.

Been through a few of the objectives you have.
Buy a windshield before you pull a windshield. A friend is having a problem getting a windshield for his 86.
The early morning drives into the sun finally gave me the kick in the butt to change out the windshield. That was 2018 and choices were limited even then.

But as we know you need to have new parts in hand before taking old stuff apart.

Thanks Bob. I hear you on the windshield. Luckily the windshield was not an issue.

Additionally, before I started the project, I reached out to Mike and he advised of supply chain issues and was very cool in addressing my concerns about sitting on product I ordered in advance waiting to install.

In short, he said if I had any problems once I was ready to install he would support. So with that said, I ordered everything I needed from Mikes Montes in advance.

The Cars currently in Featherfill getting blocked.

Next will be raptor liner on Floor, Wheel Wells and Trunk. Then Color,

Then Clearing of inside of Trunk lid, Door Jambs, Rear, Inside on Fenders, Hood Edges and other Edges.

Hot Rod Black will be the color on inside of Hood and Trim Pieces. Then on to Assembly for the final Shoot!

Regards,

Matt
