Hi Folks,

For the $1,450 asking price, I thought I'd update the list of parts that would come along with the car itself:

1. Baer racing front brakes (SS drag: 12" front rotors, C4 calipers) Only 15k mile use, outstanding braking performance, very little pad wear.
2. Complete front fascia and related innards for the '84-'88 SS nose, except air box (I felt the stock design was needlessly heavy.)
3. '87-'88 SS rear spoiler, rear bumper, and bumper inserts.
4. Two extra dashboards in fairly nice condtion: the brown one is entirely crack-free.
5. SS side opera windows and rear glass trunk filler panel.
6. Very nice American Racing rims with caps and locks, 17" x 8". (The original wheels were sold.)
7. Passenger-side extra fender.
8. Extra (floor-shift) steering column.
9. Stock A/G-body Bilstein shocks on all four corners.
10. Other miscellaneous SS parts.

Thanks,
MAP

Hi Folks,

The two dashes are sold, so a further price drop! To repeat the list of things that would come with the car proper:

1. Baer racing front brakes (SS drag: 12" front rotors, C4 calipers) Only 15k mile use, outstanding braking performance, very little pad wear.
2. Complete front fascia and related innards for the '84-'88 SS nose, except air box (I felt the stock design was needlessly heavy.)
3. '87-'88 SS rear spoiler, rear bumper, and bumper inserts.
4. SS side opera windows and rear glass trunk filler panel.
5. Very nice American Racing rims with caps and locks, 17" x 8". (The original SC wheels were sold.)
6. Passenger-side extra fender.
7. Extra (floor-shift) steering column.
8. Stock A/G-body Bilstein shocks on all four corners.
9. Other miscellaneous SS parts

New price for the car and everything listed above: $1,150! I know that rust-free cars are far from where most MCSS owners live, but this is getting close to a steal! Christmas is coming (!)

Best,

Hi Stroked_Satinblack86,

I'll reply here since you're asking a general question: simply scroll upward and you can find thumbnail pic's of the car and the various parts I'm selling with it (but please read through the thread since some parts have been sold and the price reduced accordingly.)

Just click on the thumbnails, and they should expand into large, detailed views. For more information about the front Baer brakes, check this out:

http://www.montecarloss.com/community/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1040307#Post1040307

Please let me know any difficulties.

Thx,

Hi Folks,

The front Baer brakes have just sold, so the parts remaining after the car proper, are:

1. Complete front fascia and related innards for the '84-'88 SS nose, except air box (I felt the stock design was needlessly heavy.)
2. '87-'88 SS rear spoiler, rear bumper, and bumper inserts.
3. SS side opera windows and rear glass trunk filler panel.
4. Very nice American Racing rims with caps and locks, 17" x 8". (The original SC wheels were sold.)
5. Passenger-side extra fender.
6. Extra (floor-shift) steering column.
7. Stock A/G-body Bilstein shocks on all four corners.
8. Other miscellaneous SS parts.

Price for the car and the parts listed above: $850.

I'll be receiving stock front A/G body brakes within the next 1.5 weeks or so to take the place of the Baer front brakes just sold. After that, the car will be available for sale as a stock Monte Carlo SC rolling chassis, without the front fascia, and without any of the parts listed above, for $325. The car has a clean title. If the car sells alone, then the remaining parts will go up for sale as individual parts or bundles. If purchased as a whole, the remaining parts would be $650.

If you want to make a proposal for a part or a combination of parts, now's the time.

Thanks,
MAP

Greetings,

Correction: I literally made a mistake when copying numbers - the whole package price, including all the parts and the car as listed above, is $825, not $850.

Thanks,

Thanks, LS1! Btw, it looks like the brake sale really helped turn the corner for selling this package. No signs of life for many months, and now three people with a strong interest.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Greetings,

It looks like the price has dropped low enough to where the local circle-track folks are interested in the raw rolling chassis in order to get a metric frame and body.

As a heads-up, I expect to be cancelling this ad soon and moving all the SS-conversion pieces over to the "Exterior" for-sale section.

In the meantime, however, the parts and prices stand as listed four posts back.

Thanks!

Map, are you saying the rolling Chassis is $350? Did they put in a bunch of pin holes in your quarter panels to secure the top? Does it require any body work to fill in holes or anything?

Also, I don't know how I would get it from Yuma to Florida, but at 350 bucks I would like to try to figure something out..............

Sorry to Barrage you with questions, but I just posted up a sob story in the general non technical section, and then I see this........

Is it an A/C car? Are the A/C parts intact? wiring to controls/controls/ firewall suitcase/accumulator dryer etc.?

Hi Maurauderprime,

I'll try to answer all the questions:

1. The price for the rolling chassis is $325.
2. There are small pins and holes along the entire perimeter of the original vinyl top, that were used to secure it and the associated trim pieces, in addition to copious amounts of adhesive everywhere. Clearly GM never anticipated anyone wanting to remove it.
3. Shipping to Florida will likely cost at least $1k: must say the name, "continental divide," in retrospect, is very appropos (!)
4. It was originally an AC car, but no more. There's a gaping hole in the firewall where the AC used to be. But even if it were still there, dollars-to-donuts it would be junk, as 99% of the rest of the moving parts in that car were found to be, starting with the motor. Miracle it didn't throw a rod on the drive home when I bought it...

As I mentioned in the original ad, the car was definitely hit on the RH B-pillar area more than 20 years ago, because no record shows in Carfax. Aside from the dull-as-sandpaper paint, there are smallish dents on most of the body panels, and the RH sideview mirror is loose to the door.

Honestly, unles you're just like me (not at all afraid of even radical bodywork,) and really, really, really need a zero-rust car, I wouldn't bother in your case. Plus, as of this writing, I have three circle-track racers lined-up that want to buy the car, all looking for a metric chassis - just waiting on front spindles and brakes at this point.

PM anything further along these lines if still interested (?)

Thanks,
MAP

Hi Folks,

After a long, meandering history, the entire package has just sold. Mod's: please remove/close the ad. A big, big "Thank you" to MonteCarloSS.com and to Mike of Mike's Montes in Ohio, who connected the buyer with me!

Happy post-Christmas pre-HNY,
MAP
