Can you see it? I almost missed it myself. I was only able to see this from this photo. I missed it all the other times I inspected the car.

Here it is.........

Good catch, what kind of motor mount is that? Might be a reason not to run solid mounts on the street.

Moroso. I'l have to order new ones and weld some gussets in there to prevent this again.

This year, I killed:
2 P/S pumps, yes 2..blew the front seal on both of them.
BeCool Radiator, leak cannot be repaired, only replaced. Bottom row into the tank.
1 Front shock, Have Bilstein replacements
1 front sway bar link, replaced both with Spohn Links
1 alternator, replaced internal with a cheap autozone unit. MechMan 140amp internals just arrived.
Forgot about one broken valve spring and replaced all Viton valve stem seals.

What kind of HP and Tq are you making? Do you have any pics?

This thread reminded me GM recalled millions of Chevrolets with defective motor mounts.

That was with the turbo six banger. i was setting the front frame with a small notch for the dry sump pump, i noticed it then. motor was at 750 with 650ish lb.ft. not sure when it broke. may have been when i blew the rearend apart a few weeks prior...pics are not in my photo bucket for some reason. have run solid mounts many times with no cracks or failures. frame was still mostly stock at that point, may have been to much flex. not sure
only pic when i was working on the frame at the time. can't see the brake

That little six banger has a nasty punch. My Tq. is up there also, that must be the culprit. I too do not know when it happened but I can guess it was dyno day or just before. Shortly after that I found the broken valve spring. When I was sending Crusher some pictures of the mounts is when I found this crack. Only when I reviewed the photos did I catch it.

Careful now, you are starting to get close to the amount of parts a race car uses up in a year! laugh

I'll be sure to give my motor mounts a close look when I pull my engine out next week. They haven't been looked at closely in probably 5 years now...
