Hello,

I'm considering adding a sub-woofer in the truck and I'm curious how the stock rear speaker wires are routed thru the passenger compartment. I'd need to add power and signal wiring for the sub from the dash to the trunk area. Is there a known good route for adding this kind of wiring that others have found? Run it alongside the stock rear speaker wiring, or maybe a better route?

This is for an 85 SS.

Thanks!

The stock speaker wires are ran down the passenger side. Take off the passenger door sill plate (metal flashing with "Body by Fisher") and lift the carpet a bit. There is a rubber pocket running the length of the door, pop it open and you will see the wires. It has enough room for the rear speaker wires, and the wires for the amp.

I tried to worm the wires into the trunk, but I just couldn't get them in. I had to pop my lower rear seat out to run the wires into the trunk.

Thanks WB, your reply was spot on. I also pulled out the rear seat, upper and lower, as well as the b-pillar trim, and the ecm kick panel, and I was able to run all the wires I needed. I just recently replaced the dash speakers, and I already have decent 4x10's in the rear deck. With the sub-woofer, it finally has some low end, whee. smile
