Maybe SEM has changed things up a little as far as sales go, may only be able to buy SEM in spray now. A decade ago I went to the local auto body supply house and had a pint of SEM #4035 mixed, med dark grey, 82CV, for 86 Chevy. Have used it several times with a Prevail sprayer, entire console, cluster housing, even brushed it over vinyl on my Plug&Chug cup holder. The match is very good, even on the vinyl, and it's a fast dry time, paid $19 for a pint back then.
Supposedly there was two different "recipes" from SEM back then, one for hard surface, one for soft, the mix was different, I have the hard surface mix. Bought a new console cover from a guy at the 2000 NMCOA
convention, he sprayed it with a can of SEM "soft" in the parking lot, excellent results, still looks very good today. Maybe the SEM interior paints are only available in spray can form now, don't know, haven't tried to have a pint mixed recently. Have bought several of SEMS black trim paints in a spray can, the semi gloss is almost spot on for the exterior SS trim.
Oh, somewhere there is a color code for the interior trimout, probably on the SPID, could be the 82CV code for my 86, think 86-88 are the same grey, 85 and older are different.
