Not sure what to call this part. When you remove the T-Top, driver or passenger, it is black, metal, and secured by phillips head screws. There are also two of these pieces also secured by phillips head screws that run between the T-Tops. The one I need is driver-side and is positioned parallel with the top of the windshield. The one I have is "crusty" on the top and underside. Water must have sat in several areas and some of the metal is missing. Once removed, the metal in the channel in the area this piece covers is "crusty" as well, although there is no metal missing. I've removed the interior trim surrounding the T-Top and that metal is perfect. I'm going to carefully sand the "crusty" areas amd graduate up to a wire brush to clean this area before applying POR-15. I have photographed the area but can never figure out how to upload onto the forum. Does anyone know where I can purchase the metal trim that I have described. I need only driver-side but would purchase both if I have to. Thanks.

Thanks Leo. I'll check with both. Hadn't takeen the T-Tops off since I purchased in May. Was on my neighbors lift since then, sorting through mechanicals - fluids front to rear, gaskets on the tranny and rear diff, rotor, cap, brake cylinders and spring kit rear, and bled all four. Out for its' maiden voyage Saturday and finally pulled her back into my garage. Lifted the Tops and noted the areas. Used 80 grit on a drill for the bad areas. the only hole I found was far left driver-side corner. Will metal or place mat material from POR-15 there. We'll see. The cover above it needs to be replaced though.

man I have some OEM ones I've been tempted to sell over the years, but just can't I may get a Monte again yet, I think I bought the last set from dealer in the country lol, people complained about the glass rattling, it would hit that metal and drive people crazy!!! so Gm came up with a second weatherstripping, to stop the rattle, but it trapped any moisture in there and rotted those sil (I call them) plates out,

Looking for a 86~88 SS wht/t~tops
