< ". It just so happened to pop up on my facebook last night so i was like oh reallllly? I know exactly where I'm taking this. lol " >
. Ah, Brian, you just beat me to it... I saw Rod&Custom and Popular Hot Rodding had folded up and I was checking to see if Super Chevy was still current when I spotted that article on this month's online front page and thought the same thing... (if it looks familiar, apparently it's actually a 2004 vintage article from somewhere's, maybe Hot Rod, the author used to be Hot Rod's editor and is a hoarder of vintage Mopar parts) < "Kinda surprised they only went with a 280 cam, i went with a 270 in my build. I should've went with a 280 since my truck was a 5 spd and all." > . Says 280 was biggest off the shelf they found.... also something I didn't know, .350" max lifter lift (.525" valve lift @ 1.5) is biggest lift (with stock roller setup) without lifters bumping the dogbones up off the block... that 224/224 cam is like a roller version of the old 350 HP 350" V8 cams... < "The torque impressed me the most. I didnt realize you could get so much torque out of a V6" > . The 4.3L V6 being 3/4's of a 350" V8... the V6 numbers will be 3/4's of the V8 numbers... 312 --> ~425 lb.-ft. for 350" V8 of similar tune/build... a 4.3L twin turbo would really wump the torque... the porting on their heads was responsible for the 301 HP...

If your going to be using Throttle Body Injection there's a few things you should know. I'm damn near certain 4.3-5.0-5.7 all have the same bore size. I believe the 454 is the only one with a 2 inch bore and offers the biggest injectors. I think all others are 1 13/16ths bore. The stock TB can only be bored so far.Im still working on my 4.3 build and if I were to do it over I would have sent out my stock throttle body and had the works done by say CFM technologies. Do not use a TB off a 350 throttle linkage geometry is all wrong, trust me been there done that. I ended up getting a Holley 502-7 for an s10 with a 4.3 but have yet to install it.You will be suprised at what's its going to cost just upgrading your fuel system, better pump and lines to handle the pressure.
The factory tbi system is very limited in cam selection also.

. Here's another turbo engine magazine build... they start with carb.d 383's and 400's, various brands of cams and heads, and then go into EFI, roots blower, centrifugal blower, and finally twin turbos... be sure and note for the final twin turbo setup they went smaller cubes, lower compression ratio, smaller cam, smaller heads, lower boost pressure (but intercooled), and still blew away the previous builds... not what you're building (except same 4" cylinder bore), but the ideas apply...: http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/project-cars/sucp-1012-small-block-chevy-engines/viewall.html . BTW, because of boost, I don't think you'll need a 2" throttle body bore... the boost will shove the air through... .
