I would like to have my edlebrock carb rejetted or at minimum tuned for optimal performance. From the strong smell of the exhaust I think the car could be running a little smoother. What is the usual shop fee for this 1-2 hours labor? I am also having trouble finding a shop that still has the older guys around that know there way around a carb. Anyone know of any Carb specialists in hampton roads, VA?

Every small block motor I have had has been a dirty nightmare of oil burning/leaks this one only has 10k on it from jasper and it has always run like a pig. Its low everytime I check the oil, the fumes coming from the exhaust are horrible. my engine bay collects dirt and rust like a coal ash barge in the open ocean. Conversly all my 4 cylinders vehicles I have had dont burn a drop and have been trouble free for 100k plus, I get double the mpgs and they are faster to 60. The montes on a IV bag of oil smogging around town making me sick at stop lights. I am struggling to see any positive side of ownership at all these last years.. a passenger car that gets the gas mileage of a truck, is slower than my 2000 honda civic, looks horrible because I cant afford a 6k paint job. I keep it around because its my highschool car, but if I got a miata or something I could actually be competetive at autocrosses, afford to drive it gas wise, etc..
