Hey guys. Been off the forum for quite sometime but im back. I did a frame restoration and put together a 468 big block with a monster 200 4r transmission as well as a ford 9 inch rear with a detroitlocker. I also will be finishing up the 10point cage sometime this week. I upgraded to disk brakes in the rear. The axles are moser and the hub measures 3.054 inches in diameter which is too large of a diameter for the stock ss wheels.

My question is what back spacing and offset do I need to replace these wheels with just other 15s possibly cragar centerline or weld rims? The axles are the gm 5x4.75 so thats still the same.

If yall would like I could post pictures of my ongoing project. Thank you.

How close are the hubs to fitting in the wheels?

I had to hog out the centers of my ZQ8 wheels just a tad to get them to go on my hubs, is that an option for you?

And yes... Pics please!!

Well I used my caliper to measure the hub of the axle and got 3.054. I couldnt get it inside the rim to measure exactly but from using a tape measure to ball park it and put it up against the caliper id say at least 1/8th needs to be bored out. Did you have a machine shop hog it out? Also what dimensions are you using for your wheels? With the stock 15x7 rims and 265/60 tires they stick out a hair outside the quarter panel. My biggest concern is the backspacing and offset that I would need. Any recomendation?id like to stick to 15x7x60.

I just put a 9" rear in mine. I went with speed performance axles since I got rear there. My stock wheels fit fine and I have 255 x 60 x 15 BFG's and they don't stick out from fender wells. What disk brake setup are you using?

I have used mosier axles in several gm apps. And the stock cast wheels have always needed a little hogging out. If i kept stock wheels on the car i would send them out to be machined to match said axle. I guess mosier beefs up that area more. I have never used their " stock" axles either. Hope this helps. What did the 9" come out of or was it a rear modified to fit the stock gbody? I have a Quick Performance 9" in my 85 and have had no wheel fitment issue. I also have moser axles with the gm bolt pattern.
