Looking to put buckets in my car.
What front bucket seats are available from other cars that fold down to be used in the Monte's? I know some will have to have tracks swapped/modified.
I don't have a split bench, so I'm aware of the mounting pads that would have to be installed towards the middle of the floor.
Fabric would be a plus.
Thanks.

If you have a welder these are super supportive and comfortable. Not a bad swap with fab skills and a welder.

I used camaro and then firebird seats from the 93+ generations. They are a direct bolt in, fold down and are pretty comfortable. eric will chime in, but I believe his is from a grand am or grand prix.

If I was looking again, I'd definitely look into these seats like Tony put in his car

I thought he was a dealer for them at one time, but can't find a link to that thread now.

My seats are actually out of an old Z24 Cavalier believe it or not. I am liking the ones that Tony has in his car. But after seeing the ones J has in his I like them even better, I just did some research on them and was looking them over.

My buckets are out of a 80s firebird. Swapped the monte tracks onto it and dropped them right in. Can't say they are better then newer car's seats or not but I like them. I have pics in my album, I picked them up becuase of the good shape they were in and that they matched my interior color.

mine are out of a turbo eclipse (1st gen I think) Had to make some custom mounts to bolt to floor studs but they feel nice. Plus they match the interior color well.

The link is in the third post of that thread, but it says that it was not found in the database. Maybe he stopped selling them and deleted the thread.

I know that I've seen newer monte carlo seats in our cars, BMW seats, cavalier seats, mazda seats...the list goes as far as your imagination and want. Find some that you like the looks of, do a few small measurements and I'm sure you'll be able to make them fit

I have had BMW, Porsche, and F-body seats in my car. BMW (e46) seats are nice but heavy and the motors are $$ when they go bad. Personally my fav have been the Porsche seats, light, simple, and comfy.

F-body are the go to when you dont want to work, just bolt and go, nothing wrong with them.

build it like you love it, drive it like you stole it..

.. Some of the newer seats have much better side bolsters in them to keep you from sliding around... like in T-birds...

late 80's Mustang GT's and Thunderbird Turbo Coupes have some pretty good seats in them... i think they are Recaros.

i had seats out of some early 90's Mazda 626 or something in my Nova and they were awesome. i don't know what they were from exactly because i bought them from a guy that yanked them out of a wrecked car because they looked comfy, and i only paid $40 for the pair.. they had adjustable lumbar and side bolsters that you could adjust them to really hold you in place.
