GM Nationals at Carlisle 2019 - 06/04/19 03:37 PM

Who's going? I'll be there with our regular group. The best show I attend all year. We always have a canopy behind our cars. Stop by and introduce yourself. You can have one of Frank's beers.

Debating going, won't have the Monte or anything else cool. 4 hour drive or so, tried to go last year but was pouring on us & looked like rain there all weekend, so we turned around & went back home.

Scot you need to make one of these events, for the most part good company. Sat is a good day, the boys are tired from walking all day Fri.
Should have mine back together and parked before the breakfast run is done. Just hate those early wakeups and 1 1/2 drives up there.
But also my favorite event of the Summer,
See ya.

Make sure you stop by our tent Bob. You're welcome to Franks beer or other refreshments. As with other years past, we walk all the vendors and events on Friday and bring our cars on Saturday.

Re: GM Nationals at Carlisle 2019 - 06/13/19 03:31 AM

Scot hope you will stay until the close up on Sat, a little after 5. the best day is Sat,

For me it's an early up Sat morning to make the quick 100 mile trip up the Pa turnpike, car registered and parked by 8:30. After years of doing these Carlisle events don't need to look at every vender anymore. Usually not a lot of cars in the show area on Fri everyone just walking around making the tour. Sat everyone shows up with their cars, it's SHOW TIME.
Find the 4th Gen Monte area on Sat, look for Crusher. Kevin's car, Mr congeniality isn't far away.
Welcome.

Bob, thank you for the compliment but as always, the least conversation between us the better. However, you're still welcome to Franks's beer and other refreshments.

Where is everyone staying? I just looked and hotel I have doesn't have a pool. My son (13), will want to swim, so I will be looking for something else. Hopefully can find something, & something that is not $200+.

One of our crew is staying here. It's not five star but I have stayed there many times and it was OK for me. Great location. Days Inn 1255 Harrisburg Pike Carlisle, Pa. Has a pool.

LOL. I was staying next door to this one. Changed it to Days Inn instead.

Re: GM Nationals at Carlisle 2019 - 06/24/19 01:13 PM

You couldn't ask for a better Sat weather wise at Carlisle. Didn't need to spend any money on parts I didn't need, so sat under the canopy with Frank, Tommy and the always sociable Kevin. Just a nice day at Carlisle.

With thirteen or so SS in the row from some VERY nice original cars to the modded cars it was a good turn out. As usual Kevin car won 1st place in modified 4th Gen, a deserving award, Franks sweet SS took third place in modified. Congratulations to both.

Scot stopped by with his son and it's always good to meet and put faces to names on the forum. Hoping Carlisle gives Scot a little incentive to get his car back on the road again.

Watched the Bandit jump after an hour of waiting for it to happen, junked that car with a face plant.

Made a trip over to the UMI tent to say hi to Ramey. Will see him again at the King of the Mountain event in Aug.

With this year being the last NMCOA convention maybe some of those cars will show up at Carlisle next year. All are welcome.

Oh, thanks Kevin for some of Frank's beer.

Scot has the incentive to get his car back on the road, Scot's wife does not share in this incentive....... :-)

I am terrible at names, but for those of you that I got a chance to talk to, it was nice meeting you & talking cars. Lots of nice looking cars there. Maybe I will get it on the road & come back up next year. Might have to change exhaust before then. Not sure I can take 4 hours of 3" duals with flowmaster mufflers.

Wow - 3200 attendees. Here is the link to the winners with stock and modified classes for Monte Carlo on pages 13 and 14: https://carlisleevents.com/docs/def...2UWV2ew6sWL8njnBSeRi2aUa3Z9sOjM2gLUqbuc. Glad some familiar names made the cut.

Bob - I had too much going on before the NMCOA Nationals this coming weekend to fit in the Chevy Nationals at Carlisle too, but its on my calendar for next year - JUNE 26-27, 2020! I did clean up and repaint the doors, installed Just Dashes dash (awesome if you can deal with their backlog), and the 9 Speedhut gauges including GPS Speedo. May have solved the issues of installing seals which we have all been fighting these many years as I have been driving mine for a week with the door seals missing. Its not too load and the doors close easily for a change. Seriously though, I am putting in the door seals with the integrated washers cured in which shouldn't rip out. That goes in tomorrow. Then off to congratulate John and Cindy Harvey for their years of service and personal investment in NMCOA at "the last roundup".

Scott - Running 3" true duals with Borlas so let share notes and noise next year! I can also share the unequal distribution of enthusiasm you reference among family members for these projects - hahaha.

Flip to the NMCOA thread if you are attending - love to see you there.
